Chocolate chip cookies are one of the most beloved desserts around the world. Originating in the U.S. in the 1930s, this classic treat has earned a spot in nearly every home baker’s heart. These cookies blend comfort and nostalgia, and my recipe gives them a gourmet twist while keeping that classic soul.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup of brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup of white sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tbs of vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbs of baking soda
  • 1/2 tbs of salt
  • 2 cups of semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until fluffy.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla, beat until smooth.
  4. In another bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips with a spatula.
  7. Scoop dough into balls (about 2 tbsp each) and place on baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until edges are golden brown.
  9. Let cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire rack.
  10. Enjoy with a glass of cold milk! 🥛🍪
