Spaghetti Bolognese is a beloved Italian classic made with ground beef, tomatoes, onions, garlic, and herbs — all slow-cooked into a rich, savory sauce served over spaghetti pasta. Though traditionally Italian, it has become a comfort food staple across the globe for its hearty flavor and soul-warming appeal.
- 12 oz of spaghetti
- 1 lb of ground beef
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 carrot, grated
- 1 can of crushed tomatoes
- 2 tbs of tomato paste
- 1 tsp of dried oregano
- 1 tsp of dried basil
- 1/4 cup of red wine (optional)
- Salt & pepper to taste
- 2 tbs of olive oil
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
- Grated Parmesan to serve (optional)

Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.

Add chopped onion and garlic; sauté until soft and fragrant.

Stir in the grated carrot and cook for 2–3 minutes.

Add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon.

Stir in tomato paste and cook for 1 minute.

Pour in the crushed tomatoes and red wine.

Add oregano, basil, salt, and pepper.

Lower the heat and simmer uncovered for 45–60 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Meanwhile, cook spaghetti according to package instructions.

Drain pasta and serve topped with Bolognese sauce, Parmesan, and fresh parsley.
